New year, new life. TMR is pleased to welcome the births of 2022. Twenty-five new stations will be distributed throughout the city of Catania.

An agreement between theAzienda Metropolitana Trasporti e Sosta di Catania S.p.A. was signed today, Jan. 11. and TMR under the planning “Sustainability of Public Services and Urban Mobility” of the National Operational Program.

“Making green mobility more accessible in a city like Catania is crucial,” said Tindaro Terranova, TMR administrator. Deciding to increase the number of Bike Stations was both intentional and due, and it is always a pleasure for us to collaborate with lawyer Giacomo Bellavia, administrator of the Azienda Metropolitana Trasporti e Sosta Catania. The entire Catanese area has been affected by the positive change of course, the key word of which is sustainability. We at TMR are ready to put our means and our application, youMove, at the service of citizens.”

The project, called “Integrated Service ‘CTA moving’ bike-bus park,” involves the installation of stations, equipped with muscle and electric bikes, placed all over the surface of the city on the slopes of Mount Etna. The goal is to promote more accessible and sustainable transportation policies, without precluding access to every citizen, or tourist, who wants to pursue this choice of sharing mobility.

The bike pickup operation will be managed directly with one click by downloading our app, free of charge from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. YouMove is a MaaS fleet management platform that enables the integration of local public transport, the application allows users to monitor, in real time, vehicle availability, vacancies, and rentals.

Therefore, to the five areas where our bikes are already present: piazza Stesicoro, piazza Roma, piazza Borsellino, piazza Giovanni XXIII (Central Station) and piazza Leonardo Sciascia, another twenty-five new stations are added. We certainly cannot change the appellation of the “black city,” so named for the characteristic soot littered by Mount Etna, but certainly from today Catania is even greener.
