tmr is proud to announce great news for the city of Agrigento: the installation of five bike share stations, which will allow citizens and tourists to get around in a more sustainable and green way.

The agreement for this innovative project aims to promote more accessible and sustainable transportation policies for the entire Agrigento area, providing a transportation service suitable for both citizens and the many tourists who travel to Agrigento to admire its beauty.

Pietro Terranova, CTO of tmr, commented, “Making green mobility more accessible in a city like Agrigento is of paramount importance. The installation of the bike share stations is an intentional and necessary choice, and we are happy to collaborate with the Municipality of Agrigento, with the mayor, Dr. Francesco Miccichè and the entire administration, and in particular we thank Eng. Gerlando Principato who, in the role of alderman, oversaw the planning with us. This positive change toward sustainability will have a significant impact in the Agrigento area, and we at tmr are ready to make our means and our app, youMove®, available to citizens.”

The project, called Agrigento bike sharing, will install stations equipped with electric bikes throughout the city, embracing the surrounding area. The goal is to make transportation greener and more accessible to all, encouraging sustainable tourism by adhering to this choice of sharing mobility. The stations are strategically located in Sinatra Square, Lower FS Station, Central FS Station, San Leone Lungomare, and San Leone via Neptune and offer a total of sixty pedal-assisted bicycles.

“We are excited to have started the bike share service in the city. – added Councillor Principato – This is an alternative mobility service to using cars or other means. It allows access to LTZ areas and will contribute to the reduction of traffic and CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. It has value from an environmental point of view and provides a service to citizens and also tourists in anticipation of Agrigento Capital of Culture 2025. We are happy with this result, we made the right choice by putting the stations at points of interest so we facilitate the interchange between the stations, the bathing spots and the Valley of the Temples.”
