The client and the context
Sorso, a charming town located near Porto Torres, Sardinia, is famous for its beautiful coastline, white beaches, and rich natural heritage. With its commitment to protecting the environment and promoting sustainable tourism, Sorso has decided to embark on a path toward sustainable mobility.
The goal
In 2021, the goal with the launch of the Sorso Bike sharing service was twofold: to promote sustainable mobility and to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Sorso.
They wished to offer citizens and visitors a green transportation alternative that would reduce private vehicle use and harmful emissions. In addition, the introduction of the bike share service was intended to create a more livable city by reducing traffic congestion and improving the quality of the air and urban environment.
All to make Sorso an increasingly sustainable tourist destination where visitors can enjoy our natural and cultural treasures in a responsible way.
The tmr solution
Sorso chose to partner with tmr, a leader in sustainable mobility, to install a bike sharing system called Sorso Bike. This initiative aims to provide citizens and visitors with a sustainable transportation option and to promote an active and responsible lifestyle.
With two strategically placed stations, Sorso Bike offers a total of 12 bicycles, including muscle and pedal-assist bicycles. This variety of options allows users to tailor their experience according to their preferences and needs via thefree youMove® app, available in the Apple Store and Google Play Store. The app allows them to check the availability of bicycles at stations, reserve them, and use them for convenient and easy city travel.
